Event Description

Embassy Review : We had our interview yesterday and were approved, so I thought I would make a small contribution to the site that helped us so much along the way.

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency which was located about a block from the hotel, it was a little more pricy but we thought we would treat ourselves as we had waited so long for this day. Hotel was really nice and we had a great view of Mont Royal.

We woke up around 530, got ready and walked to Starbucks on Saint Catherine and probably arrived at the Consulate around 645. There were already 4 people ahead of us. Opened doors around 730, and a couple of people were turned away for havings bags. But they did show up shortly after.

As far as the rest, I would say the process was standard as to what everyone describes here. Pass through security, wait near the elevator, get a ticket (we got C6). Was called to first set of windows and they asked for all the standard paperwork, birth, police, i-134, medical. Took maybe 10 minutes, most of which the guy behind the window was typing away. I was really happy my paperwork was in order though.

Maybe 20 min later, called to the second set of windows for the actual interview. The lady was very pleasant and asked the normal questions: how did we meet, when did we meet, how often we saw each other, what type of work we did, if I have ever had trouble with the law, how often we saw each other, if it was a big or small wedding...She also asked my fiancee a couple of questions about her previous marriage. Then boom approved.

Like everyone says, if paperwork is in order, I sincerely doubt you will run into any problems. I had an accordion folder and everything ready to go. We were out at 9am.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
