Event Description

Embassy Review : My review is a little crazy.

We arrived at the consulate at 5:30am, we had a 6:45am appointment. The line was long and can be intimidating to some people, but I go to Six Flags often so this wait was a piece of cake, so I thought. They started to let us in around 6:30am, We had #123 and at roughly 6:45am we was inside where we saw the famous metal benches. The benches had these cushions on them, idk if they was new or what but it made the wait bearable.

Maybe after 1 hour we was called window 16 where we gave in some papers and signed some papers. Then we went to pay the $80 and sat down again. By this time we want to the Cafe and got something to eat. Another 1.5 hours and we was called to window 12 for finger prints and told to sit down again. And we waited and waited and waited. At that point my fiance began to chat with some other people to make the time go faster. Our number was called again to window 17 where the man asked me a question in Spanish and I told him that I dont speak Spanish, he gave me a weird look asked for some papers and told us that his "partner" would be right with us and was told to sit down.

We was called to room 11 where we was separated. My fiance went 1st into the room for maybe 15 minutes, then he called me in and asked me these questions. (I cant remember the order sorry)

-How did we meet?
-when was our 1st kiss
-when was the 1st time we had sex
-do we use condoms
-did we have sex last night
-what do I do for work
-how do I get to work
-who do I live with
-have I met her family
-where does she go to school
-how many yrs did she complete
-what is her major
-what did we eat last night
-how many times have I been to DR
-what did I buy her for her birthday
-what did I bring for her this trip
-what color is my toothbrush

Of course I got all the questions right until the toothbrush question, where I had a blonde moment. I told him that I didnt know that I bought the toothbrush in the airport because I forgot mines at home and I didnt know honestly, my fiance later told me that she didnt know the color either because she didnt look. The interview was smiling and said good good, and told us to wait outside that we would only have to wait this one more time, but he didnt say how long.

We waited for 3 hours to be called again. I was nervous as hell and started second guess our interview. I kept kissing my lady and telling her that everything would be ok. But I was scared. By time we was called at 4pm there was only maybe 20-30 people left. We went to the window and the gentleman said "You guess are approved, I hear you had an excellent interview, go to domex and pay. Welcome to the United States" I was shocked and asked that it, no jokes, he laughed and said, yea you guys are good. I kissed my woman and asked him if her needed anymore of my papers and he said no, they have everything they needed. We paid and left with smiles as big as the sun lol.

They didnt look at 1 piece of evidence, I had pictures, hotel receipts, western unions, 20 pages of both skype and whatsapp chats, boarding passes and more. They also didnt look at my pay stubs or financial information. But its better to be prepared.

Even though we waited the whole day, it was worth it. APPROVED!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
