Stayed at the Bayview Park Hotel just across from the Embassy.
3:38 Only a handful of other applicants were present.
4:00 Maybe 20 total now, mostly sailor applicants.
A couple seem not to like my being their with Emely, but they try to not let me see them scowl Meh! No skin off my back.
The ladies in the area who work as street vendors have been asking everyone why they are here and are organizing us by category before the guards have even thought about coming over to do the same. They also scold people for trying to cut in the line.
There was one older woman who was looking for change. (several of us helped her out a little)
5:00 The guards asked those of us with Immigrant visa applications (which for their purposes includes K1s which are not actually immigrant visas) to come and form a new line up closer to the actual embassy area. (all of the previous activity mentioned above was in the area to the left of the embassy past the heavy concrete barriers)
5:25 Immigrant line was allowed up to the 'gate' and Emely was asked for her Appointment letter and passport. They will want the other government forms soon after, so having them handy is a good idea.
5:30 A worker organized her documents and put a sticker on Emely's Passport and put it in a plastic bag.
6:05 I had a cell phone with me, so I went in the US Citizen's entrance and 'check'd my cellphone and went on in to the visa area Emely was in and seated about 5 minutes after I was.
6:13 Numbers started appearing on the boards! Yea!!!
7:36 our number was called for the first time. The worker, who was nice Filipino man, took about 20 minutes to ask his questions, so we were done with this part at 7:56.
8:30 finger printing. Emely must have been tired (we got up at 2:45am) or nervous because she thought they asked the name of her petitioner,when they actually asked her name. So she answered Joel Bradshaw, the woman behind the counter was confused, I was confused, and said Emely Albellar. We all had a little chuckle but Emely was a little embarrassed .
8:40 CO interview. Nice American guy. Took about 4 minutes, he swore us both in, and then asked her a few questions, and me a couple. We settled an issue with the Police Good Conduct Certificate fairly quickly, and he said tentatively we were improved. Only one more thing he needed to have checked, and sent us back to our seats.
9:20 we were called to the 2Go desk were we were told we were approved and they took her information as to where to send the Visa.
Next stop USA! Wooo Hooo!!!+
