Comments : Honolulu International airport.
We arrived at 12:10. I was the only person on my CR1/IR1 visa. I handed over the envelope to the immigration official who opened and processed my case. I was done in about 10 to 15 minutes. they took my fingerfrints for my green card and my biometrics too. In all, a very pleasant experience.

Embassy Review :
I had my interview last Friday. I was there early, and picked a number. I was number 6. After I was called to the window, I had to submit all the papers on my checklist. I had everything with me. Since, my wife is employed in Korea, I used my mother in law as a joint sponsor. She send me the I-864 and her tax return, and proof of US citizenship.

They called me a while later, because I forgot to submit proof of my wife's domicile in the US. It was in my bag. It was our bank account in the US, her drivers licence, and letters that was mailed to our US address.

After I paid my $230 fee, I waited for my interview. Two or three people before me were refused, for not having all their documents, on the checklist, so I was very nervous.

Once I was called for the interview, the consular officer started asking me some questions like where we met, and where in the US my wife was from. He also asked where we were in the US last summer.

After he checked through everything, he was pleased, and said that he didn't need my joint sponsor, and was happy with my wife's I-864. since my wife is still currently employed, and returned my joint sponsors papers. He wrote okay on the files, and approved my visa. He said I should receive it in the mail between 3-5 days.

That was it, they were very professional and kind throughout the whole process,

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
