When we felt that something was not right about our wait for the new case number from NVC, we asked Maryland State Senator Van Hollen to help locate our case - and they did. Without their intervention, USCIS would have kept telling us they are backlogged and we should just keep waiting and waiting. After that everything went smooth! | 2024-04-06

Even with a lawyer and internal contacts we only found an available interview appointment after checking the website for several months. At one point we were planning to go to Estonia to conduct the medical exam and interview, and then we checked the website just before buying our airline tickets. We would have needed to stay in the country for a couple of weeks until the process was complete. Despite our success, if you have the time and money I would recommend arranging an interview in another country. It is too difficult to schedule an interview through the US Embassy in Moscow, and I imagine it will only get worse. | 2018-06-01

In light of that we requested a transfer from Moscow to Poland via email. Our transfer request was approved on 6/30/2021; New case number and invoice ID were created on 7/7/2021. On 7/7/2021 NVC sent an email informing us that our petition was en route to the US Embassy in Warsaw, Poland. UPDATE: My fiancee got a Greece visa to travel to Poland. She spent 3 days in Athens, Greece before flying to Warsaw. She underwent the medical a week before the interview at the Embassy. The medical records were ready the same day. Interview at the embassy was smooth with no hiccups and she got approved for the visa within 30 minutes. This has been a very frustrating and expensive endeavor. Glad to be done with this part and on to the next chapter. | 2022-04-30
