We got an RFE because our lawyer didn't send our marriage certicate she only sent the marriage contract. Also when uploading the financial documents add w2s and transcripts because there are a lot of people getting RFE because of that. | 2023-04-19

I got an appointment less than 2 months after my transfer was approved. I was interviewed by a young intelligent white consular officer. Questions asked include: 1. Who petitioned for you? 2. Where was she born? 3. What work does she do? 4. How did you meet? 5. How many times has she visited after marriage? 6. Has she been married before? 7. Have I been married before? 8. Do we have any child together? 9. Where does she live when she comes to Ghana? 10. Flipping through my album, she pointed at someone and asked who he was 11. Have I ever been arrested before? 12. Who is your joint sponsor? Then came the magic words..... I WILL APPROVE YOUR VISA! | 2023-05-24

Email received that Visa/ passport ready for pickup on Monday, April 17th. Visa pickup only took 15 minutes. Very well organized and fast. Visa status check: https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx Registered account the Consulate uses to notify the applicant when their Visa/ passport is ready (the applicant will register after the visa interview) https://staging.ustraveldocs.com/ng/ng-niv-passportretrieve.asp Important to note: Passport/ Visa pickup Lagos: Received an email that it's ready for pickup. In the email, there is a DHL link provided to schedule an appointment for pickup. The email states an appointment letter is required for pickup. We continuously received 'Record not found', thus not being able to move forward with scheduling. The email states to contact US Travel Docs Visa representatives, which was a waste of time, and added frustration. I called DHL and was informed that Immigrant Visas do not require an appointment. You can just go to the specified Victoria Island location for pickup at Sandilad Arcade, 230 Muri Okunola St, Victoria Island 106104, Lagos, Nigeria (this one is designated for immigrant visas) Update POE: Atlanta, less than 10 minutes. | 2023-06-13 |
