It was along and very trying time to clear Immigration. They even held me for 8 hours and even longer for other Africans on the same plane that I was on. The men of the immigration went down to the receiving area where my wife was waiting and harassed her and loud talked to her and told her she is going to be arrested if and when I leave them and get to her. I have never heard of anything like this ever in my life. Other Africans told my wife to pray and don't let them upset her. To have faith and believe I will be here with her. That they held them for over 15 hours then let them go so keep praying and believe. | 2018-02-11

Potomac Service Center | No | Ghana | 2021-03-03 | 2021-03-23 | 2021-04-23 | 2019-03-14 | N/A* | Original interview scheduled for 4/23/20 after everything filed 4/6/2019. Due to COVID it got delayed until August 25 2020 and then cancelled. In January 2021 we got confirmation it was rescheduled for 3/3/2021. At the time of the interview, even though they had 2-3 years of my tax returns, they put him in administrative review until I submitted my 2020 taxes. I did them that day and then submitted thru the immigration portal. After 2 weeks of no word, I reached out to my local congressperson to contact the embassy. Simultaneously, the embassy was approving his visa. He picked up his passport at the local DHL roughly around 3/23/21 and then entered the US on 4/23/21. Because we had been married for 2 years at that point, they granted him a CR1 visa (allowing *i think* 5 years on the green card vs 1 on the IR1). We got a notice from USCIS that on 7/29/21 they were finally making his green card and then on 8/3/21 we got another notice that it was mailed. So hopefully we get it in the next few days. Been a long 2.5 year process! | 2021-08-04
