The Embassy encourages correspondence by email which we also utilized to submit the KEV-1 List -- after I called the Embassy to verify receipt of the petition package from NVC. The internet can be a real time saver. But,for us, the Embassy did not send an email or letter about the interview. I called 6 days before the interview to ask the status and learned of the interview date. It pays to follow-up with phone calls to humans. . . We received conditional approval of K-1 Visa on 1/24 - on submittal of original Russian Police Certificate which had not been received (after 2 months) for interview -- we had a faxed copy. I'd like to acknowledge the Russian & Ukrainian mail service for their incompetancy and thank the US Embassy for their understanding. | 2007-01-24 |
