They kept coming back to us saying we were missing papers from the envelope I gave them. It was a sealed envelope from the embassy. Everything they needed should be in there. They also kept coming back and quizzing us with questions about our relationship, asking for the exact number of times each of us went to visit the other and the exact dates. They had never done a k1 before and we were scared that they would not let us through. They made us wait three hours before finally letting us go. It was very stressful, worrisome and overall the worst experience I've had entering the United States. I will never cross at that border crossing ever again. 2017-05-10

I had called that exact border crossing the week before to make sure I can cross there with a K1 packet and was told that I absolutely would be able to do that. However, the women working that day were in such a bad mood and were mad that we came through on their shift because they did not know how to process the K1 packet that I handed them. Because I was worried about them messing it up, I asked if I may enter at a different border crossing, but they refused to let me leave. We were bombarded with questions by the officers, but it felt like an interrogation. One officer kept coming back saying that I was missing papers from the packet I handed them. It was a sealed packet from the embassy. I did not open it to remove anything. I did everything by the book and I felt, after waiting so long to be with my fiance, that they were going to screw it all up. Every now and then they came out to angrily ask us questions as well as repeatedly asking for other documentation. I was adamant that I didn't receive anything else to give them other than what was in the sealed packet. I was so sick to my stomach from worry. After three hours, they finally let us through. It left me sick with stress for the rest of the day. We were finally through, but I couldn't relax. It was too much. 2020-08-06
