I-601 waiver was filed to USCIS in late Sept 2022, and expedited in April 2023 due to wife's life-threatening illness with the diagnosis, doctors' letters and other certificates. The visa was issued on 6/23/2023 and finally received on 6/28/2023. From filing to IR-1 visa received, it takes total 31 months with a late stage cancer diagnosis. Before filing I-130, we filed I-129F for K-1 visa that was approved then withdrawn because the suspension of K-1 visa during the first year of COVID. Nearly 4 years of life was spent on filing and seemingly endless waiting, very hard to go through. This makes us to cherish life more, cherish love even more.
