I arrived at the consulate around 7:35 and it's already lining up outside. At first I waited in the lines but with time passed no one go inside, so I checked with the security and he directly asked me to go inside. Outside the gate, they checked Passport and Appointment confirmation page. Went through security check, belt required to take off for check. Then went to 3rd Floor in the next building. 1. At Zone A, lining up to get the number. Need the passport and the email sent by Guangzhou Consulate, which indicates the GUZ number. 2. 2. After it showed your number in the TV or window, went to the window to submit documents(passport, birth certificate, police certificate, I134 form and tax forms(W1040&W2s) first, the officer will ask some simple questions as well, such as who applies the petition, have you ever visited the States, where did the medical exam take. 3. After they collected the documents, went to Zone B waiting for interview. It started in Chinese at first then later figured out I speak English switched to English. Questions are: Q: Have you visited the States before, how many times, when was the last time, how long have you been there last time. Q: How did you meet? How many times have you met? Q: What is your fiancee's job? Q: Have you met his parents? Do you have any pics? Q: Any wedding plan? Then he said congrats, visa got approved. | 2024-03-20

So, it was a wasted visit, as I could not attend the final interview. A couple points: 1. If your lady is 45+, better to schedule an earlier physical, since TB was prevalent back then. Many ladies have forgotten about their bouts with TB. 3 days of testing are required. Takes up to 52 days for the results. 2. The physicians panel has the discretion of a 3 months or a 6 months time frame for entry into the US. Time starts, when the panel signs off, not when the visa is issued, though the deadline is shown on the visa. Took about the full 52 days for the panel to sign off, but another 2 weeks for another interview date to be set. By the time the visa was issued 1 1/2 of the 3 months set had already passed, so planning had to be expedited. She landed @ SFO on 1/16 with a day to spare. | 2011-04-11
