Yanliu85228 Xug. & Yan China Texas No Guangzhou, China 2020-12-02 2020-12-03 2021-11-10 2021-11-12 2022-07-27 2023-06-28 2020-11-27 602* The result of the first consulate interview was administrative processing, then visa was denied in late August 2022 under 212(a)(3)(D)(iv). I-601 waiver was filed to USCIS in late Sept 2022, and expedited in April 2023 due to wife's life-threatening illness with the diagnosis, doctors' letters and other certificates. I-601 was approved in May 2023, the case was sent to consulate again, no second interview was necessary, just sent in the passport and a second medical exam report. The visa was issued on 6/23/2023 and finally received on 6/28/2023. From filing to IR-1 visa received, it takes total 31 months with a late stage cancer diagnosis. Before filing I-130, we filed I-129F for K-1 visa that was approved then withdrawn because the suspension of K-1 visa during the first year of COVID. Nearly 4 years of life was spent on filing and seemingly endless waiting, very hard to go through. This makes us to cherish life more, cherish love even more. Peace to the world. 2023-06-29

We didn't have any red flags and we've been living together for over three years. Many other couples who lived together in China have also reported a drama free process with getting their visa as well. The visa officer did not look at a single document, and only asked some simple questions like, "Did you go to America before?" "How long did you stay?" "What kind of work do you do?" My wife was nervous but she did fine, but did have to wait a couple of hours though in the embassy for her turn. 2012-11-18
