I originally filed a I-129 fiancee visa in January 2010. USCIS and the NVC approved it and my wife went to her interview at the consulate in Casablanca, Morocco. In April 2010 it was denied at the consulate for the reason of "Other." "Other" is the only box that was checked on the denial form. That was all there was to read on the denial form. I was at the consulate in Morocco when they denied it. When I tried to discuss it, I thought I was speaking with consulate officers but instead I was speaking with customer service employees who merely worked at the consulate. I had to go back to the USA without my fiancee. It was very traumatic. SO, on my third trip to Morocco to see my fiance, we were married. We were married on October 3, 2010. On the third trip, 3 days before we were going to get married, her oldest brother died. I went back to to the USA and filed the I-130. I received a notice saying they received the I-130 on November 22, 2011. (Incidentally, three months after that, I got a letter from USCIS saying that they denied the fiancee visa because I had not met her in person. Which obviously I had, twice. So basically I never got a valid reason as to why it was denied.) Now, I am waiting for our I-130 to be processed. The website says that the average wait time is five months. It has now been 6 months and nearly 3 weeks. Today (June 3, 2011) I called USCIS and they gave me a referral number and said that within the next 30 days I will get an answer as to why it is taking longer than "normal" to process. It has been torture, but we will both do whatever it takes. Please just tell us what else it will take!.....well a year later it all went smoothly. The whole process sucked but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if I had to. | 2012-10-21

He was fortunate to get his Visa on the same day that he had his interview. Advise: It really helps if your husband speaks good english. That seems to be very important in getting the Visa. Be pleasant and interested in the interview. Be polite. These are things my husband told me. | 2007-08-08

Basically, it states that my case has been trxf'd to VSC in order to speed up processing. I had read on the USCIS website that this would happen: The ppwk would stay @ the NVC in MO, but the case would be sent to the SC where my I-130 had originally been submt'd to, in this case, VT. *2007-3-26 Rec'd NOA's for I-129f and I-130 about 1 week apart at the beginning of the month while I was in the Dom Rep visiting my wife, stating that we were approved. I'm pleasantly surprised that the I-130 came through so fast, but it makes me feel like I wasted $$ with the I-129f... Oh well, maybe the K3 petition is why the I-130 was processed so fast; I needed to grea$e the wheels. Now I'm just waiting to hear from the NVC in Portsmouth, NH that they rec'd the packet and are sending it forward to the US Consulate in Santo Domingo. *2007-5-1 I never heard anything from the NVC re: sending out my packet. Only after calling and calling (they always had too heavy call volume and a recording said to call back) did I get some answers. They told me the case # and that they sent it to the US Consulate in DR on 3/2/07. I only know that it was rec'd bc I searched for the case # on the Consular's Appointment Waiting List web page, and Our case was added on 3/7/07. | 2008-12-03
