Had enough time to return my rental vehicle change repack some things. I made it back to US Customs security and cleared security. I then entered the area where the kiosks are. The kiosk could not scan my visa type. It instructed me to proceed to an agent. I turned in my sealed medical docs. I was taken to a back office area where another agent saw me after a 5minute wait (there was one other person ahead of me that had just been processed). Agent had to confer with a co-worker. He daid he had not done a k-1 in a long time. I told him I would not suspect there were many persons from The Bahamas that use it. He then scanned my right four fingers (thumb excluded) and took my photo. Asked if I was ready to live and work in the USA. I reiterated I am getting married and was ready for that. He told me I had 90 days from that day etc. I told him I wed in 4 weeks. He wished me well. Time including security clearance was less than 30mins. I made it upstairs with 2hrs til takeoff. | 2021-11-21

We arrived right at 9 for a 10am appointment. The line was so long it took us a solid 45-50 minutes to get through so I highly recommend you arrive early. As others have mentioned, bring only your paper documents and identification. Security is clear that you can't bring any phones/electronics/pens/pencils and instructed folks in the line that you can have "nothing that can be applied to the body". Be sure you bring the appointment confirmation letter that shows the date/time/and payment. That wasn't listed in the instructions but you need it to get inside. Once inside we waited for another hour. You will be called up twice. First to give your documents to person 1 and then interviewed by a second. I had labeled each of the documents needed and person 1 took them all off and handed them back to us - so save your labels! I also had original envelopes for my previous marriage certificate and W2s and they gave us the envelopes. Oddly, they did not keep my previous marriage certificate and handed it back but instead kept only my divorce certificate. It was crowded in the space but by time it was our turn things had cleared out quite a bit. You are called up to a window (there are about 5 or 6) and will do the interview standing at the counter and talking through the glass - it has the feel of ordering tickets somewhere. You're standing in front of everyone in the waiting room. It can be a little awkward but that's what everyone is doing so you just roll with it. The interviewing officer was pleasant. He addressed each of us with a few questions. They were easy to answer and he asked them quickly. asked the following: 1. If fiancé had ever left the country 2. what family fiancé had here in America 3. when his family members came to America and why he didn't come with them 4. if we had children, how many 5. asked fiancé how we met 6. asked me what type of vacation I was on and how many people were on the trip in my group 7. asked me if i had met any of his family 8. asked me how often I talked with his mom 9. asked if we had any recent pictures (I printed out 4-5 from each of my trips post-petition submission) Then the officer said ok, thanks your visa is approved and will be ready for pickup in about a week. Once outside we asked one of the security guards to use the phone just to call the cab driver to let him know we are done. Overall, pretty easy. **NOA2: Just FYI for others, we had a longer period between NOA2 and scheduling the interview in order to coordinate travel around my schedule. I don't want others to think this timeframe would apply to them when trying to plan their timelines. | 2019-08-12
