Lisa & Chung | Canada | California | No | Montreal, Canada | 2011-07-19 | 2011-08-26 | 2011-10-13 | 2011-11-04 | 2011-12-07 | 2012-02-21 | 2012-02-22 | 2011-01-18 | N/A* | On the day of my interview I arrived 20 minutes early as noted on the letter. I went in took a number and was called to take fingerprints about 5 minutes in. 10 minutes later they called me back again. The lady asked me some basic questions about my address, when I got married etc. and then told me to go back and wait. I waited for 2.5 hours before I was called in for the official interview. This man in window 7 looking intently at the computer screen told me he was reviewing my file to make sure nothing was missing. He asked me "where did you meet, how did you meet, how long did you live in the states" and then went on to ask me more questions (which I thought was odd). The thing is I lived in the US for over 10 years. I went when I was a teenager with my parents because they got a visa through my fathers work. Anyway all in all the conclusion of my interview was this. 1. I was missing Federal income tax statements for my husband. His company just started 2 years ago so his income has been at a 0 this past 3 years and even though we had his father do a joint AOS they asked for this. 2. Canada police report. It didn't occur to me to obtain a Canadian police report because I had lived in the states so long but this was easy to obtain. 3. I had a DUI charge in 2007 in California and to my stupidty failed mention it to my Pannel Physician in Toronto. Now they are in the process of giving me an "evaluation". This I am having difficulty with. Once I gather these 3 documentations I will be able to submit my passport to Montreal Consulate and wait for my CR1 visa and go home to my husband where I belong. It has been a long journey and it seems like my lack of knowledge has just made it longer. Sent additional documents. Consulate received December 28, 2011 | 2012-03-06 |
