Potomac Service Center | No | Islamabad, Pakistan | 2017-10-16 | 2017-10-17 | 2018-04-23 | 2018-05-03 | 2018-07-12 | 2018-08-08 | 2018-08-10 | 2018-08-12 | 2017-09-01 | 296* | We used Etihad airways so we had the POE processing occur in Abu Dhabi. After landing in Abu Dhabi, we went through the special security screening for US bound planes and immigration officers at Abu Dhabi airport. The immigration officer asked me for the envelope which we did not have because this was a pivot case. He seemed to think we should have it and then he looked at the screen and said sorry, you are all set. He then led us to a waiting room and told us to wait until called. He took both my wife's passport and mine. Then they called me in for a short interview (basic questions like where do i work etc.) My wife (beneficiary) waited in the waiting room. Then I went back and we waited some more. They then called both of us to another desk and they provided me with some basic info like when the green card will arrive etc and returned our passports. Then we continued on towards the gate. With the processing happening in Abu Dhabi, we just collected the baggage in NY city and left the airport. The whole process took 30 min in Abu Dhabi. Since arriving here 3 weeks ago, my wife has already received her GC (3 weeks even though they said 3 months) | 2021-10-10

My wife's interview at the US Embassy at Islamabad went well. The counselor was very friendly and facilitating, and only asked a few questions pertaining to marriage dates (he asked for pics) and what I do in the US (I'm a PhD student and work in the industry during summers. My income is way above the poverty line). However the whole ordeal took more than 5 hours in total, which includes about 3 hours at the embassy. A whole lot of marriage evidence documents were sent to the USCIS including pictures, money transfers, jewelry/clothing receipts, credit card logs, and chat logs. Additional updated evidence was sent in the NVC envelope a few months later as well (I visited my wife a second time after our marriage in between in Pakistan as well). Thank you everyone for putting up their documents and date information here on visajourney. It has helped us a lot :) | 2021-08-09

Hope this will help. | 2018-07-13
