Edwin & Claudia Colombia Potomac Service Center No Bogota, Colombia 2016-02-19 2016-02-23 2016-06-29 2016-07-25 2017-03-27 2017-03-30 2017-03-30 2017-03-30 2017-03-30 2017-05-17 2018-02-13 2015-08-08 453* We sent our first complete package to the NVC on 9/26/2016. Then, on 11/5/16 we were told that we needed to send additional documents. There were not asking for anything additional, they were asking for my husband's passport. We sent it a 2nd time and we have been waiting since. We have called several times to the NVC asking for an estimate on when our case will be reviewed and we had the most bizarre answer from a supervisor: "we cannot predict the future". I have been calling every day until finally on 3/24/17 we were told that our case was complete and that we should receive an interview for may within the 2 weeks. What is concerning is that the next day we received a letter stating that we are missing the police report for my husband. We sent a complete package including the passport we sent twice and the police report. There are certainly serious issues when they receive their package and scan it. They are obviously losing documents when they receive them. Finally we have an interview May 10th in Bogota. Interview rescheduled for May 17th. Result: Subject to 10 year bar. The bar will expire on Jan 2018. Were told to wait to receive instructions on how to proceed after the bar expires. Update - My husband's bar expired on Jan 10th. We received an email from the Bogota Embassy to submit his passport with new medical exams and police report. We submitted the full package to the CAS in Bogota on January 31st. We are waiting to hear from the Embassy. The immigrant visa was approved on February 8th. Received on February 13. 2018-02-13

NVC claimed that the IV fee was taking long to process due to a system error. I had to email my AOS and IV packet because I have a prefix of "BGH". Each file had to be separated and titled "Casenumber_firstname_lastname_filename". The ENTIRE email had to be below 5mb. This was a challenge! We were missing a police report that was for the whole country not just the region my husband was living in. It took a week to get the report which was on the same day as the interview. My husband went to his interview without the report and our case was put into administrative processing. As soon as he left the interview he picked up the report and sent it to the embassy via courier. My husband's visa was issued less than a week later on October 23rd. WOOOOO!!!! The process is over and we are done. Thank God!!! 2019-11-05
