I arrived around 7:05 am since it was only a 5 min walk from the hotel. As I arrived, 4 other people had been already waiting there. As I walked up, someone from the embassy was standing there and he asked me for the purpose of my visit. After I had told him that I was here for my K1 visa interview, he directed me to the second row of the seating area. I waited for roughly 5 minutes before I got to the window where they verified my appointment and gave me a number. Next, I had to go through security, which was pretty easy and quick. After passing security, I walked to the next building where the actual interview has happened. When I entered the building, I found myself in a big hall that indeed gives you a feeling that you are in a train station. I walked up to the front desk where a lady was standing behind it, she gave me a piece of paper with instructions and directed me to the very last window of the hall. Since it wasn't 7:30 yet, the Windows were still closed. Therefore, I sat down for another 15 minutes before they opened the window. At that window, I only got asked for my passport. Afterwards, I had to sit down again and wait to be called to another window. It only took 5 minutes until I was called to the next window. The lady behind it was very nice and just verified my documents. I was told to sit down again and wait to be called to another window where the actual interview will happen. I had to wait for another 30 minutes to be called to my interview. The person behind the window was very nice. I had to swear in, give my fingerprints, and the initial interview started. I was asked pretty much the standard questions: How did you both meet? Who proposed to who? Where and when will you get married? Where will you live? After the interview I was told that I will receive my passport, as well as, the sealed package within the next 7-10 days. Overall, everyone was very nice and the interview went very smooth. 2022-11-01
