Rohan & Briana Australia California No Sydney, Australia 2006-08-24 2006-09-01 2006-11-17 2006-12-04 2006-12-08 2006-12-13 2006-12-18 2006-12-22 2007-01-22 2007-02-05 2007-02-07 2007-02-14 2007-04-07 165* 8 77 80 We didn't receive Packet 4 (letter with the interview date and time) so we emailed the consulate and they emailed us the interview date and time. The original letter was mailed to us January 4, 2007 (the letter was never received). We got lucky, the whole visa process, though slow, went smoothly. Upon arrival into the US, my fiance filed for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD), so he could work and be paid in the US - cost was $180.00. He received his EAD; however, the EAD voided on the same day as his Fiance Visa voided. We then had to re-apply for his EAD when we filed his I-485, which cost us another $180.00. Had we known, we would not have filed the first application for the EAD and just waited until we filed the I-485 to save $180.00. 2010-11-07

Tom, the interviewer, couldn't have been nicer. Just a few perfunctory questions about how we met, how many times I'd visited her, and how long I stayed each time and then we were done. Picked up the visa the next Monday. I flew to LA with her as well. I cleared immigration much faster than her due to the long lines for foreign passport holders. As I stood behind the immigration gauntlet waiting for her to clear, I was surprised to see the immigration officer wave me over to talk with him directly when Pim finally cleared the line. He asked me if I understood that I would have to support her financially for the duration of her stay. That was about it, but I was surprised at this line of questioning so late in the game. Anyway, he stamped her passport and she's now in LA! 2007-08-09
