I arrived at the US embassy at 10am, 30 mins before my appointment. After a security check like the one at an airport, I was allowed inside. There were 2 receptionists at the opening to the building who I handed my appointment confirmation and passport to. She confirmed my appointment and stamped it with a seal which included my case number on the back of my passport. She also gave me instructions regarding the order in which I should file my documents. After a second security check, I could enter the room in which interviews take place. When I got inside the room, I took a number from the machine and started sorting my documents as per the instruction. About 15mins later, the Japanese staff called my number and confirmed that I had I handed in all the documents required. After about 30mins the American staff called my number and took my fingerprints. About 90mins later the interviewer called my number and started the interview with an oath. He asked me to raise my right hand and swear that the documents I submitted and my upcoming statements are true and correct to the best of my knowledge. Of course, I said yes. The questions were: 1. What is your fiancé’s full name? 2. How did you meet? 3. Where does he work? 4. Have you met his family? 5. Has he met your family? 6. When is the last time you two saw each other? It seems he was satisfied with all my answers and didn’t ask for any further proof such as photos. At the end of interview he told me that everything looks good and I can get my passport back within one week. I was worried because there were many people taking over 20mins for their interview after their oath but my interview was finished within 5 minutes after a 2 and a half hour wait….. I got my passport back 3 days after the interview. | 2019-08-05 | ||||||
