I, the petitioner (U.S citizen) , asked for an expedite due to financial hardship (currently unemployed because of COVID), emotional/medical hardahips (going to therapy for depression + anxiety) , and I just had my husband's baby. I'm also a college student so I need ed my husband's support ASAP. I sent the expedite on August 17, date received by NVC was Aug. 24, expedite approved on August 28. It said I would get a call from the consulate/embassy in about 2 weeks and I got the call on September 11 telling me when ny husband's interview date was (sept. 23). I got all the paperwork ready, and made his medical exam appointment for the 21st, and fingerprints on the 22nd. On the day of the interview there was very few people (I imagine because of COVID). My husband told me they asked him multiple questions (I assume because we are CR1 category since we have barely been married for a year). But they were questions he already knew questions he SHOULD have known. Questions like: Who is peitioning you? Where does she live? Where do you plan on living? What is your newborn sons name? Where are they right now ? How is your sponsor ? How is he related to your wife ? What does your sponsor work in ? What is your wife's occupation ? They asked him if he had a tattoo(which he purposely wore a short sleeve so they could see it and the doctor had already taken note of it at his appointment. Which they only asked him what it meant (first initial of his middle name). They asked him more questions, but he knew them. He was asked to show his original birth certificate and marriage certificate. Also the police certificate from his state and my 2018 taxes . His case was electronic which is why I think they only asked him for that. I think they might have asked him for my 2018 taxes because I was amending my 2019 taxes (but he took copies and original of everything anyways). At the end, the young lady said congratulations your visa has been approved ! They told him to wait for an email so he could pick up his packet (in this case his passport with the visa already inside since everything is electronic now). We got the email in the afternoon, but we went the next morning to pick it up at CAS. He didnt get a packet like most people usually do, instead, he got his passport with the visa already in there. We were in CDJ ao he got it that same day, I assume if he got it by DHL to his state it would have taken longer. We entered the U.S on October 4th through the TJ border by car and we were asked to park inside. There he was escorted inside the office where he got his passport stamped. And here we are now! I hope this helps, goodluck. And thank you God always. Have faith🙏 2023-01-05
