Waiting times weren't half bad, pretty straight forward. My fiancee was there with me but he wasn't allowed in the actual interview. The consul invited him in just to say hi and then asked him to leave. I started the interview by swearing I was telling the truth and having my finger prints taken. The consul was serious but proper and professional, not at all rude. He asked me how we met, when and where. How the relationship developed, how we decided to get married, what we do for work and what our plans are for this year. I chose to speak English, answered thoroughly and directly and that was it. It took me at most 5 minutes. He congratulated me, said that my visa would be ready in a week and that was it. I'm flying on the 7th, entering through Huston with my boy. Wish me luck! Houston was great as a poe. Simple and quick. No harassment 2022-04-27

Because our original flight got delayed by 15 minutes, we were handed off some orange sleeves that would have expedited the process through regular immigration and security. HOWEVER, because we had a visa, these "express sleeves" were useless to us. When we arrived at the immigration window, they did the normal process and then instructed us to go to the immigration room where we waited for the packet to be reviewed. We were not interviewed or questioned for too long. They only asked us where we were going to live, how we met, and finally when we were going to get married so they could let us know it was OK and it fell within the allowed window of staying within the visa. We still missed our next flight, which we knew we would, but it wasn't because of immigration taking as long as in other cases. It was because the allotted window (1 hour or so) was not enough to go through a normal U.S. entry when you are coming internationally (even of a U.S. citizen) AND go through the immigration that checks a visa plus grabbing the luggage to recheck prior to boarding. We hope that helps! 2024-07-05
