We showed up at 6:30am, they called my bf's name and gave him a number. We walked into the embassy by 9am, and out by 11:45am. 1-Turn in all the applications, criminal records, birth certificate, ongoing relationship proofs, 2-pay fee, 3-his fingerprints, 4- Interview. The young lady, very nice and sweet, I should add, asked him a few questions and to me too. In less than 5mins she said the magic words: Your Visa Is Approved, comeback tomorrow to pick it up!!..... OMG.... now we have to wait for all the paperwork in Cuba, hopefully by next week he'll be done..... 09/09/09 We are finally married, it was such a long way but we made it. This week will file for adjustment..... just being positive and happy!! 2009-12-05

They ask all kind of questions and be prepared to present sufficient documentation (specially financial). It is important to be prepared and practice with ur SO before the interview. Some of the questions that were asked were: -Where is he going to live? -What is he going to do in the USA? -When did we decided to get married? -How did we inform our families? -How did we meet? -How do we communicate and how often? -Does he has family in the USA?and if so who? -Does he have family in Cuba? -What are our plans for the wedding? -Where do I work? -Do I go to school? -Have we been married before?Kids? -Where we single before meeting each other? -She asked me to explain what is the K1 visa. -Asked him if he was part of any Communist organization. -Why do we want to get married? And others that I dont recall... Also, if the US citizen attends the interview with the US passport u can enter with no problems...After entering the receptionist provides u with a form that the US citizen completes so that you can have the interview as soon as possible...this is great as we did not have to wait for a long time... 2010-08-17
Rodolfo & Bridget Cuba Vermont No Switzerland 2009-05-26 2009-06-01 2009-07-31 2009-08-22 2009-09-10 2009-09-25 2009-09-14 2009-11-09 2009-11-30 2010-01-20 2010-03-29 167* 6 60 101 Cuban immigration- instead of visiting the Cuban emigre's house- is now requiring proof of ownership (or who is the owner) of the person's house. Be careful, they're telling us this will take 30 days... at each office. So if your fiance has moved fairly recently, in our case the last 2 years, they're requiring the document for current and past residences and they'll only do one at a time. If it sounds totally ridiculous, it's because it is. 2010-11-06
