I arrived at the Portland USCIS office at 7:25 am for my 7:40 am N400 interview, greeted by friendly officers joking about how a solar eclipse had disrupted their printers. By 7:45 am, I was taken to an office where we went through the formalities—oath, photo, fingerprints—and I passed the civics, reading, and writing tests with ease. The officer efficiently updated my application with my new job and recent trip, then approved my application, mentioning the oath ceremony was scheduled for about 1.5 weeks later due to construction. By 8:00 am, I was on my way out, and by the afternoon, I received texts confirming my place in line for the oath ceremony and the mailing of my ceremony letter for April 25th. The process was surprisingly smooth, efficient, and personal, leaving me impressed and a step closer to becoming a U.S. citizen. |

(Update written 5/15/24)- On 4/22/2024 RFE Received right after interview on same day. Submitted evidence on 5/6/2034. On 5/12/2024, USCIS received RFE and updated the file stating it’s under review. On 5/15/2024, USCIS approved the evidence and placed in line for oath ceremony. Yay!

(Written March 2024) -Finally! N-400 interview scheduled for April 2024. Hopefully everything goes well and husband can get scheduled for the Oath ceremony.
