B. Cordeiro BOC & BOC Phoenix AZ Lockbox Chicago IL 2022-09-25 2023-03-29 Yes 2023-04-13 I first got an interview for December 16th 2022. I carefully read the instructions on the notice letter that mentioned the documents I was supposed to bring and due to Covid protocols, not to come accompanied by anyone except if I had a lawyer or an interpreter. I went by myself, but luckily my husband was waiting just a block away because the first thing the officer asked when he saw me, was: where is your husband? I want to talk to him too. Long story short, since I still had not had the conditions removed of my permanent residency, the officer first wanted to do the interview to remove the conditions of my green card and just then move to the N-400 interview. I was not prepared with the documents for the removal of conditions, I did not bring the copies of evidences that we were a real couple. Because we don't have a kid, a car or a mortgage, the officer was suspicious and asked that I sent more evidence. I was confused because I was there for the N-400 and not the green card. The officer told me to upload the extra evidence on the same process I had uploaded the N-400 documents. He did not give me a notice or request for more evidence and sent me home without starting the N-400 interview. I uploaded more evidence and did not hear anything back. A month after, I decided to send all the evidence I had originally sent online, via mail. just then my case moved forward. I got a notification saying that on my request they had cancelled the first interview (witch I believe was because the officer did not give me a request for more evidence, that was the only way to enable my case to move forward) and I received the final green card - in other words the removal of conditions on my permanent residency. A few days later I got scheduled for the second N-400 interview. The interview was in March 29. I had a different officer, this time a super nice and kind woman. I did not have to show any other evidence and the interview in total lasted about 20 min if not less. Only two days later I received the schedule for the oath ceremony on the 13th of April. 2023-04-17
