On July 26, Tiff went for her interview at 26 federal plaza at 8:30AM. The appointment took all of 45 minutes to 1 hour. The interviewing officer was pleasant and nice. He asked her for a couple of financial documents, she showed him our tax returns and my pension statements. He asked her questions, she got 6 in a row correct. The questions are... 1- name a state that borders canada 2- what year was constitution written 3- what ocean borders east coast 4- name one of the thirteen original colonies 5- name one right under the first amendment 6- how old do citizens have to be to vote. the reading portion was "Who must pay taxes?" (Something like that) The writing portion was "Everyone pays taxes" (Something like that). at the end he told her that she passed, and is welcome to wait for the appointment to take the oath. Or she can recieve it in the mail. We opted to wait there for the appointment. So we waited in another room for an hour. She got the letter of appointment for the Oath ceremony. I will keep you updated. Goodluck to you...........Hi everyone, Tiff took the oath to become a citizen in Brooklyn NY, it's a long day. You can expect to be there from 830am to around noon. Family and friends wait in the cafeteria till around 11am. then you may or may not be invited to the courtroom to watch the ceremony. In any case, the entire event is viewable through CCTV in the Cafeteria. The first part of the day is spent checking on your paperwork and talking about voting, your duties as a citizen, etc... Then the oath is at around 1130 and is relatively quick. Don't bring cameras and cell phones, otherwise you have to check it in (And stand in line to get it back later). The cafeteria's food isn't bad at all......Any questions feel free to contact me.....For Tiffany, her journey is complete. I want to express my thanks to everyone here, and VisaJourney. Good luck to you. 2014-12-07
