I was actually accompanying my parents who was traveling on a IR5 visa. I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to stay in the visitor line with my parents, but the officer was kind enough and allowed me to stay in the visitor line, instead of the citizens line.. We handled him all the paperwork and he greeted us. He was very polite and efficient. He took my parents pictures and finger prints and confirmed the address where the green cards would be mailed. He gave us the sealed envelops and asked us to proceed to a secondary inspection to finalize the admission process. We got to the room and nobody was there. After three minutes, two officers came and asked for my parents' passports and envelops. They came back within 5 minutes with a stamp in the passports and a letter stating that they should receive their green card within 3-6 months. One of the officers stated that my parents were now legal residences of the USA and that the stamp in the passport give them the permission to work and travel abroad until they receive the green card. The officer smiled and welcomed us to the United State. It was a great experience and no harassment at all.
