Before describe my experience, it is important say that Rio de Janeiro Consulate "converted" my K3 Visa process to a CR1 visa. I confess that I had to "triple check" this on internet forums, etc because I was not believing!

I was with my spouse, so we used the US Citizens line, and the lady that was organizing the line said we had use the kiosks to proceed. The computer was not able to read my Visa, so we went to another small line to have the documents checked by an immigration officer. Additionally, I was with my backpack full of copies of the documents submitted during the whole process, just in case they ask it again... pure paranoia... Once there, the immigration officer got my envelope and opened it, so I was able to see the envelope content, that was just the same documents that I saw at the embassy when I was there for the interview. He checked everything and asked where and when we met each other and what I was doing on that occasion in USA, and I was so nervous that I didn't understand what he said, but my spouse helped me and gave to him the information requested. The official also asked when and where we got married. After these questions, he collected my fingerprints. He said that my green card was valid for 18 months and in a few weeks I will get my provisory card. No additional documents were requested. I should confess that I was so relieved that I felt as if a truck were removed from my shoulders.

I would like to add two more information: 1) One week later I went to Social Security Administration office to start my SSN request, and the clerk said I must wait at least 3 weeks to start the process, because this is the average time for them to receive the information from Immigration Department. I was a little upset, but it these are the rules, what could I do? One week later (2 weeks after my entrance) I got magically a letter from Social Security Administration with my Social Security Card, what made me very happy, and made me think that they probably have some interface between they, and the SSN is automatically requested. My SSN came without any restriction. 2) My Green Card arrived around one month after my entrance.
