Overall the process was very simple. I traveled with my fiancé from Thailand to the US. We arrived in Chicago at 8:00 am Wednesday morning. I asked if I was able to accompany her through immigration. I was told that I could and we were directed to get in the line for First time VISA. The line was a little long but moved steady. We waited in line for about 20-30 minutes before we finally got to talk to an immigration officer. I went first and explained to the officer that was traveling with my fiancé who was traveling on a K1 Visa. After he checked me in he then asked me to have her come forward. My fiancé then handed him the packet that she received from the Consulate in Thailand. He opened the packet and sifted through the documents briefly. He then asked "Are you aware that you must marry your fiancé within 90 days?" She replied "Yes". He then told her to place her right hand on the finger print machine and to look into the camera. After that he stamped her visa and said "Welcome to the United States". He was a very pleasant officer and the experience was very pleasant.
