Arrived at JFK after traveling on Emergency Advance Parole (I-512, paper form) for first time due to a family emergency.
Was nervous about the process, particularly after some hassle on airline end when checking in for flight (just unfamiliar with the paper form/AP process), but went about as smoothly as any entry I've ever had at JFK (in 8+ years of flying there at least twice a year).
Initial I/O was friendly, asked if I had been a student in the past (I said yes) and verified that I was no longer a student and had an AOS case pending (yes, also) - took fingerprints/photo and said they'd review documents in the secondary processing room, was nice & communicative as he walked me over.
Inside secondary processing, wasn't asked any questions and had the Emergency Advance Parole paper & passport stamped within 5 minutes. Actually got through it all before my wife (USC) had gotten to the end of long line for the kiosks!
