Overall, I had a very positive experience. In fact, I never experienced such a short line getting through immigration line (only like 5 minutes, I arrived around 4pm on Friday, our plane from Lisbon got in approx. 30mins ahead of schedule) after which the officer took me to the secondary control room.
After taking approx. 15 minutes to review the envelope from the embassy that I handed him he said it all looked good and wished me good luck. Both the immigration officer at the secondary control room and at luggage claim (I had lots of luggage) even cracked a few jokes chatting with me as I graduated from one of big public US universities and they noticed it in my paperwork and joked about the college's football team (the officer was a fan of their rival team).
In total, it took me less than 1 hour from exiting plane to getting out of the terminal with my luggage where my fiancee's mom picked me up.
