We arrived to Miami at 4 ish, and had to stand in a very very long, but pretty fast paced, line. My fiancé (USC) came with me to the Visitor's line, and nobody gave us any problems about it. When it was our turn, we gave our passports to the IO in the booth, he asked where we were coming from and how long we are going to stay, and when we told him I had a K-1, he took my fingerprints and kept my passport and mystery envelope, and told us we were going to be called. We stood a bit beyond the booth at a corridor for a couple of minutes, and were called by another IO who escorted us (and two other people for unrelated business) to a waiting room. He told my fiance and me to wait in another section of the waiting room (the one to the left).
We waited for a bit longer, and he returned with the mystery envelope and gave it to another IO (there where 4 counters in the waiting room, with an officer each). Funny thing, the officers on that shift made it seem like they hadn't dealt with a K-1 before, (We overheard them saying "They tell you you will never ever see on of these") The officer who had our envelope now called us to his counter and asked us some routine questions (how long we've been together, how did we meet, what do we do for a living, when is the wedding) and then told us to wait.
After some time, he came back with my passport (the officer stapled some sort of paper with my name and other info to my passport), reminded us about having to get married within 90 days, and that I couldn't work until I got my EAD.
The entire process took about 3 hours, and everything went smoothly.
