We landed in SFO at 01:20 PM on a Monday. A few flights must have just landed because there were probably a 1,000 passengers in front of us in the Visitors line. I asked two security officers just to be sure, and both said I should get fingerprinted and photographed as a Visitor, then go to window 20 for my immigration documents to be processed.
After about 2 hours in line, my turn came and the CBP officer was extremely friendly, throwing a few laughs and sharing some small stories. We were on DV and he didn't ask any questions aside from confirming that the address we wanted the GC to be sent to is the same. We then went to window 20 and it was more or less the same; a few laughs, a smalltalk, and two stamps later we were out.
All in all it was about 10 minutes in processing time between the two windows.
