We arrived shortly before 11 am. We were a little unsure as to which line to get in, Visitor or Citizen (citizen was long!) We asked the roaming info guy and he said we should get in the Visitor line. As we were standing in line I noticed a sign near the middle of the room that said "new immigrant" with one person at the window and nobody in cue. Another review said that line was on the far right side of the room so apparently it moves around. We awaited our turn in cue no more than two minutes and went to the window. Immigration officer was very friendly, no hassles whatsoever, and we were done in less than 5 minutes. As we were finishing up they herded a whole armada of wheel chairs to the "New Immigrant" window because no one was in cue. You want to beat them to the line lol.
Side note is I checked the box on the visa papers for the SS# application to be initiated upon entry and it arrived in the mail about 10 days later.
