After a lovely half empty flight from Heathrow to Charlotte, I left the plane with my Passport and sealed envelope clutched tightly in my hand. I joined the general queue for ESTA and VISAs. When I got to the front of the queue I showed the guy my K1 visa and he then pointed me to a clear line. Walked up to the desk and gave the officer my passport and told him that I had a sealed envelope to pass on. He then took my fingerprints and took my photo. He advised that he doesn't deal with the paperwork so I need to go and collect my baggage and then proceed on to the secondary interview area. He gave me a plastic number to show the next officer. I then waited for my bags hoping that the next part wouldn't be a problem. Saw the sign for secondary interview and as soon as I walked round the corner the officer called my name. He asked me if we'd set a wedding date yet, what my fiance's name is and will he be waiting in arrivals for me. I gave the answers and then he stamped my forms and sent me on my way. It was the best feeling to walk through arrivals and see my fiance and get a very big hug. The officers weren't exactly friendly but it was ok.
