Be prepared to WALK, it's about 10 minute walk from getting off the airplane to arriving at Immigration/Customs, and then be prepared to sit and WAIT. It took us about an hour to get pass the initial POE. The two Officers were nice enough, it just seemed like they purposely made you wait a really long time for no reason. They were talking amongst themselves and laughing at personal jokes when there were quite a few of us waiting to be processed. They initially took our passports and my husband's sealed Visa paperwork. We were told to sit and after maybe 10 minutes they called my husband back up for fingerprints. Then they told my husband to go back and sit. About 20 minutes later they called us back up and I verified our address and signed some paperwork. Then they told us to sit again. After another 20 minutes they finally finished processing us and gave us the information on when my husband's conditional green card ended and where to send in the paperwork for the permanent green card. After we were finished with the POE, we went to the baggage claim section to retrieve our luggage. We then had to go and get our bags scanned because we had "a live animal" with us, our 7 lb. chihuahua. Thankfully they didn't have to scan all of our bags, they just verified that my dog had the required vaccinations and they let us through. It was a long and exhausting experience, but so worth because my husband is finally in the States with me.
