I accompanied my Wife to her interview and we flew back together.
At the POE, we both went to a window when called. It was manned by an Asian Man who like most government types appeared to be bothered by customers. This did not bother me as he was not in any way rude.
I gave him both of our passports and I told him that my Wife spoke limited English. The only question he asked was "Where the brown envelope"? I handed it to him and he did some finagling with the computer and scanned our passports.
He then made us wait in his line of sight as he called radioed another agent and then proceeded to give excellent customer service to the next folks in line.
Another agent came along after about 3 minutes, an Hispanic lady who seemingly went to the same customer service school as the other agent.
She had us march in single line towards another office. She had me wait outside but before she took off with my Wife I managed to tell explain to her that she did not speak a lot of English. She barked back that it did not matter. Okay then.
About 5 minutes later Wifey came out all smiles. She said she only asked one question, "What is your name"?
And with that we escaped into the American wilderness. Actually just to catch another flight.
Folks, you haven't lived until you fly with someone that has never flown before.
