Arrived at the miami international airport around 9:00am. Went into one of the available immigration lines, there were some that said "residents + visitors" and some that said "citizens", but they had opened up a lot of other lines to deal with the rush of people coming off the flight, so I just joined one of the shorter ones.

Went up to an immigration officer, handed him my passport, told him I was becoming a resident. He took my brown envelope and told me to stand to one side, and someone would take me to a room to sort out the paperwork.

Another officer came and got me, I went into the room, which held only me, a father and what looked like his three daughters, and a lady and her husband. Lady got called, then the father and his kids, then me. I went in a room, signed a sheet saying I understood that my status is conditional. Immigration officer said 'thats it! your green card and ss should be coming in the mail.

I think I waited for an hour or probably less. I had left about 4 hours between my connecting flights, but I think the fact that I got to Miami so early meant that there werent too many ppl before me dealing with immigration stuff.
