We arrived at Houston around 3:30 p.m. and by the time we got off the plane, we got to immigration around 3:40 p.m. It was pretty empty, and I asked the guy at the beginning of the lines if my fiance could go through the US Citizen line with me because he was coming on a residency visa. He said yes and we proceeded to the last window (there was absolutely NO LINE). The immigration officer took our documents and my fiance's envelope. She asked a few questions about when we met, where we met, and made some jokes about how we are gamers. I think my fiance had some trouble understanding here, even though he is fluent in English, so I guess it was her accent. Then she told me that I had to go to the end of the hallway and wait by the escalators and they were going to take him to another room to process his paperwork.
They took him to a room on the left side of the hallway (right side if you are by the escalators and facing the immigration windows). He filled out the I-94, they asked him some questions like what I did as a job, what I did in Honduras, where we are staying, how and when we met (basically the same questions at the first immigration officer). Then they tore off the bottom of the I-94 and attached it to his passport. About 20 minutes later, he walked out with his passport and our customs forms. We picked up our luggage, checked it again, and found our gate for our connecting flights.
