Our arrival process in Seattle was very easy yet very long. When we got off the plane we first had to stand in the Visiting Line to pass through the passport stamping customs area. I, the American Citizen, was able to accompany my husband in this line. When it came to our turn, the mysterious DO NOT OPEN envelope was opened and the clerk then gave us a cardstock paper and told us to go to another part of the building, about 30 seconds walk away, for the first entry to be processed. There were quite a few people in front of us, but the clerk was friendly. We sat our envelope on the counter and waited for my husband's name to be called. When it was the clerk made him sign a paper confirming he understands that he only has a CR1 visa and that after our 2 year anniversary we will have to remove conditions. He gave him his Alien Number and wished us good luck.

My husband's social security card arrived in the mail (we checked that box on the DS-230) 6 days later.
