I arrived at LAX around 6pm. I went to one of the visiters lines and the very unfriendly Chinese officer looked through my documents. Then I was directed to go to the booth no. 1 with all my documents. It's not a separate room, but it's located at the end of the long immigration counter. It's a little section next to handicapped line with some chairs.
There was absolutely nobody. One CBP took my documents and made me sign and make finger prints on 2 pieces of papers. Then I was asked to sit and wait. After 10 min all the officers were gone somewhere. I waited another 10-15 min there all by myself. Soon one guy came back and looked at my papers. He called me and said "good bye. go home!" after tried some Japanese on me.
It still took me 45 min for to get out of the airport. Overall, it was a stress-free experience.
