I would like to begin by saying 2 things:

1. When you arrive at the POE they EXPECT you to go on the VISITORS line, NOT the citizens or residents line.

2. If you have a connecting flight, it is best to schedule a layover time of at least 4 hours.

We arrived at FLL at around 5:00AM. They took us to a side room and we were the first ones there... literally. There was no one. We had to wait for at least half an hour before the first officer walked in. We almost made it out of there in record time, but as they were about to pick up our packet, a lady in a wheelchair came in. So naturally they processed her first.

When it was our turn, the guy just typed some information on the computer and then made us both sign a form stating that we understood the 2 year conditional agreement. Then he stamped the passport and handed it back to us.

By the time we left it was around 6:45. Needless to say that we had to run like crazy and if we had been delayed another 45 seconds we would have missed our connection flight.

...though it's fun to be the last one on the plane. No lines! No waiting! lol
