Landed at LAX around 3.05pm, Tuesday afternoon, walked up to a clerk that was assisting people and directing people into the correct lines. I was asked to join the visitors line, which I though was strange as I had the MBE in clear sight. Approaching the immigration officer, I had him my passport, my MBE, took finger print, photo. At this point I was asked to go to another line which read "new immigrants" my MBE was given to the officer at this desk, here I had to give my signature, and was handed a Welcome to America letter. At this point I was allowed to grab my bags and make my way pack to the officer who told me that my GC and SSN would arrive at the address I provided on my paperwork. After this, I was free to go and meet my husband who was waiting for me on the other side....lots of hugs and kisses.....I stayed in the US 12 days, on my last day in the US, my GC arrived with SSN...all in 12 days from making my POE. Great experience...
