As soon as the plane landed, they made us wait on the plane about 15 mins. because 'customs hasn't started work yet'. Our plane was already 20 mins late into Seattle.
It was looking good at first- We ran to the front before we got into lines at the passport stamper's desk, and were quickly processed, ONLY to find out that it doesn't matter how early you get there, you're a "second-class" entrant if you need additional processing, as they told me.
So they had us wait until EVERYONE else on our plane was processed into the US, and when it got to the very LAST person, ANOTHER plane just got in. At first they told us we would have to wait until all of THEM got processed as well, and then they changed their minds and said they'd just process the 3 people in wheelchairs first. I'm not sure if they really needed the wheelchairs or not, but one lady seemed to have no problem kicking her husbands wheelchair in front of her.
There were 2 other people that were waiting for the additional processing as well, and they got processed before us. It was starting to look like we might miss our plane, which we originally were supposed to have 2:30-3 hours before it took off. In the end, we made our plane with about 10 mins to spare (thanks to not having any additional problems at customs), and all was well. POE also asked us both basic questions, real easy stuff, and although they were pretty friendly, we heard them mention numerous times that they don't care if we miss our layovers.
I give it a 3, for not being hard, but also not being very helpful. If our layover had been just a few minutes sooner, we would have missed it.
