Atlanta is a very big and busy POE. I understand CR-1s take a considerably longer time to process than K-1s because of the additional upfront paperwork that has to be processed for GC, etc. I guessed I would have to wait maybe an extra hour or so, but was surprised by a three hour wait instead. He said there were no problems per se, but the process is incredibly slow and there were just so many people. His flight was booked to capacity and there were of course many international flights landing in ATL.
Advice? Maybe pick a day other than Saturday and plan to wait a long time. Reuniting at the end makes it all worth it of course.
