Waited in line to talk to guy at window. I gave him my envelope from the consulate. He told me to fill out the customs form which I'd neglected to do on the plane. Then he asked me where I'd be staying in the US. He walked me to another office where he put my file and passport on a counter and told me to sit down and wait my turn. There were many people waiting, so it took me about an 1 hour to be seen (they were processing people in the order they'd arrived, although the green card people only had to give thumbprints so it took less time for them). When my name was called, the officer said "So you're here to get married?" and I said yes. And then he asked me again, and again I said yes. Then he stamped the I94 and he stapled it in the passport, but then he removed it in order to stamp it again (maybe to give me the employment authorization stamp which I didn't even ask for). He gave it to me and told me not to lose it. and then I was on my way. Before leaving the office, I did show my passport to an officer sitting outside, he told me which way to go.

Then I went to customs, which was also no problem. I declared that I had some herbs (for stomachache) and they didn't care. They only cared about meat. So no one opened my bags. Then I was free to go to check into my next flight.

All in all, it was very easy. People working at JFK were helpful.
