17:40 Arrived at JFK airport

17:50 Arrived at POE - Got in a line for visitor/visa-holder

18:05 POE/Primary inspection: Presented my passport and a yellow envelope (with K-1 application documents given by the US Embassy) to an immigration officer. The immigration officer opened the envelope, checked the content of the envelope and the visa stamp on my passport, wrote the alien number on my passport next to my visa stamp, and stapled a portion of I-94 on my passport.
I asked him if I can get my temporary employment authorization stamp, and he said I can get it in the secondary inspection. He then took my biometrics and guided me to the secondary inspection room.

The primary inspection took about 15 minutes, and I must say that the immigration officer was the most friendly (yet professional) officer that I encountered in the US POE!

18:20 Took a seat in the secondary inspection room, and my name was called within 30 seconds. After making sure that I am getting married within 90 days on entering the country, a new immigration officer gave me a temporary work authorization stamp on back of my I-94. The stamp was smudged and illegible, so I asked her to stamp it again - which she kindly did. I ended up with three stamps, which still were all barely legible (just a bad stamp or ink - not the officer's fault). Apparently the alien number on my passport is far more important than how legible the stamp is.

18:25 I was set to go within 5 minutes, with my passport and temporary work authorization stamp(three of them!).
