We only had about 90 minutes to make our connection (my fault in booking). To make things worse, we were seated in the back of a very full Boeing 747. Also, the stewardess on the plane was adamant that a K-1 visa holder did NOT need to fill out an I-94 form. So my poor fiance was at the end of the line for "visitors". Despite that, the lines moved pretty quickly.
I went through the USC line, collected our bags, and went around to the exit area for the visitors. My fiance waved to me and the immigration officer called me over to assist. He asked us a few questions to make sure that we understood the rules. Then he stamped her documents and said those magic words, "Welcome to the United States of America". We made our connection with time to spare.
