The first immigration officer we spoke to gave us a hard time about my fiance's educational level, saying that he didn't think he could let him in because he'd not finished high school in his home country. After going around and around with him and our plans (we were very honest/up-front about our situation) and him giving us advice, he sent us to the interview room. We waited about 10-15 minutes and my fiance was called up to the desk and asked a bunch of questions. I was not allowed to provide him with any information (addresses or names of places in English - he only speaks Spanish at this point), but in the end, they stamped his passport and allowed him to enter, giving him 6 months on his B-2 visa. We were nervous through the process, but everything turned out ok in the end.
