I was hoping to get my wife to stand in the US citizen or Green Card line given that she had a CR1 visa, but we were told to stand in the Visitors line, which was terribly long at 8 am given that many intl airlines arrive in that window. After 30-40 minutes on line, we together reached the window where the immigration officer took the brown envelope and opened it and asked only one question. 'How long have you been married?'. He then took my wife's fingerprints and picture and stamped my wife's passport. We were then asked to move on the last booth at the end of the baggage claim area where a south asian gentleman was collecting the brown envelope contents and filling out certain forms. He took my wife's signature and fingerprints. Total time was about 1 hour and 30 minutes due to long lines, otherwise it was pretty smooth and no harrassment.
No questions asked at all in the customs!
